Heres a fun little video I produced and made for CalTech and the non profit group the CalTech fund. These students are incredibly talented and smart. We’re impressed with the vehicles they were able to make for the competition.
I can rarely commit to anything. Even something as simple as a blog. I remember years ago, during the era of live journal, I would have months, massive time gaps, of not writing anything. It’s not that I couldn’t come up with anything to say (worthwhile or useless) it’s just that the whole act of sitting and actually writing was on the lowest priority.
Maybe because I’m secretly embarrassed of my shit grammar.
I’ll choose to believe that.
But since those live journal days and since I’ve started directing professionally, I’ve actually started working on the discipline of sitting down and just writing. Sucking it up, getting pass the shitty grammar, embracing the little anti social monster waiting to destroy my social bug. A lot has changed since Ive worked on just sitting down and writing.
Ive learned to shut up and listen, watch, observe.
Ive learned to be confident in the weird crap I come up with and just run with it.
In the process of learning how to tell a story, I’ve learned more about people, and the desires everyone shares.
I’ve learned to be empathetic and to love everyone and inevitably the characters I create.
So while I’ll lie and say, I’m going to try harder in writing and updating this blog with my musings and useless opinion, you’ll be happy to learn that on the non public side of things. Im sitting down and writing.
but my grammar is still shit.
Here is a website of the scrips and projects I’ve come up with while sitting and writing.
